A big THANK YOU to Shaker voters for your support – and special thanks to all the volunteers who helped contact voters through phone banks, door-to-door campaigning, financial contributions, displaying yard signs, and enthusiastically representing the campaign out in the community and at school events. Because of you, our schools will continue to thrive.
Any yard signs remaining on lawns will be picked up and recycled.
Again, thanks
for KEEPING SHAKER STRONG

- The Shaker Heights City Schools are known nationally for their commitment to quality education for all students.
- It is more important than ever to ensure that students are prepared for life after high school.
- The state has failed to fund schools adequately and fairly. State support is declining, yet unfunded and under funded mandates continue to increase while items such as fuel, health care, technology and materials increase in cost.
- The schools have already made a number of cuts to stretch the last levy an extra year. Further cuts would hurt student achievement and our community's reputation.
- Issue 12 is a 9.9 mill operating issue to help balance the budget and prevent deep cuts.
- Without it, they would have to eliminate 10% of the budget, which translates to 80 positions, mostly teachers.
- With Issue 12, we will keep our schools moving forward educationally and continue to manage resources prudently.
